Aikin Gaganyaan ya yi hasashen kaddamar da ma'aikatan jirgin guda uku zuwa sararin samaniyar kilomita 400 na tsawon kwanaki 3 tare da dawo da su cikin koshin lafiya ta hanyar sauka a cikin ruwan tekun Indiya. Manufar za ta nuna iyawar jirgin sama na ɗan adam zuwa Ƙarƙashin Ƙarshen Duniya da dawowa lafiya. ISRO tana haɓaka fasahar ƴan asalin ƙasar don motar ƙaddamar da ɗan adam, Module Crew Habitable, Tsarin Tallafawa Rayuwa, Tsarin Gudun Hijira, Cibiyar Tashar Ground, Horar da Ma'aikata da Farfaɗo. Waɗannan fasahohin suna da mahimmanci don cimma manufofin manufa ta Gaganyaan da kuma ɗaukar ayyukan tsaka-tsakin duniya a nan gaba. Kasafin kudin Rs. HSFC tana karɓar tallafi daga sauran Cibiyoyin ISRO don aiwatar da jirgin farko na ci gaba na GAGANYAAN a ƙarƙashin Shirin Jirgin Saman Sama. Babban aikin wannan cibiya shi ne jagorantar shirin Gaganyaan na ISRO ta hanyar haɗin kai tare da mai da hankali kan duk ayyukan da ake gudanarwa a sauran cibiyoyin ISRO, dakunan bincike a Indiya, makarantun Indiya da masana'antu don cimma wannan manufa. HSFC ya dace da babban ma'auni na aminci da amincin ɗan adam wajen aiwatar da ayyukan R&D a cikin sabbin fasahohi, kamar tsarin tallafin rayuwa, Injiniya Factors na ɗan adam, Bioastronautics, horo na Crew da ƙimar ɗan adam & takaddun shaida. Waɗannan yankuna za su zama muhimman abubuwan haɗin kai don ci gaba da ayyukan jirgin sama na ɗan adam mai dorewa a nan gaba kamar tashiwa da tashiwa, ginin tashar sararin samaniya da ayyukan haɗin gwiwa tsakanin taurari zuwa wata/Mars da asteroids na kusa da ƙasa.

Module Orbital (OM) zai kewaya duniya kuma an sanye shi da na'urori na zamani na jiragen sama tare da isassun sakewa idan aka yi la'akari da amincin ɗan adam. Ya ƙunshi abubuwa biyu: Crew Module (CM) da Module Sabis (SM). CM shine sararin da za'a iya zama tare da yanayi mai kama da Duniya a cikin sararin samaniya ga ma'aikatan jirgin.
